In a debate that was organized by News 5 entitled Versus, they invited pro-Duterte blogger and lawyer, Atty. Bruce Rivera and his counterpart anti-Duterte blogger and also a lawyer, Atty. Jesus Falcis.

Before they started with the debate they tried to break the ice. In this segment, Falcis admitted that he voted for Duterte but started to oppose by February or March.

Falcis then asked Rivera why he was a supporter when Duterte said himself that he used to plant evidence. With this, Rivera answered that a lot of prosecutors say that. What matters is, at the end of the day, he is a man of dignity and he gets his job done.

When asked why he said that, Rivera said in a matter of fact tone "mind games."

They talked about the time that Rivera used to be the lawyer of Napoles, but he withdrew because he didn't want to lie. Falcis admitted Rivera gained his respect there.

Another thing that made Falcis respect Rivera more is when he told Sass off for spreading the fake news that VP Leni is pregnant, which she isn't.

Falcis asked if Rivera was getting paid, he said he isn't.
"I don't want to be paid for my principles."
When asked if he thinks Sass is getting paid, he said he doesn't know.

Another issue that Falcis raised is the Tapang at Malasakit alliance that was formed by presidential daughter and Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte. But the problem that Falcis sees is that former president Erap Estrada and Imee Marcos were there, and they were linked to corruption.
"The event was open to the public. With them being there it doesn't necessarily mean that that was the alliance."
Rivera then asked Falcis what VP Leni has done in a year in position. To which Falcis said that she has done a lot.
"As a vice president na walang powers, ang dame na niyang nagawa."

When the debate came to the very loud issue of extra judicial killing. Rivera said that there can be no extra judicial killings in the Philippines because we don't even have judicial killings, like death penalty.

But what really stood out is when Rivera stopped a seemingly never-ending argument to say that at the end of the day, the Philippines is still what will matter.
"At the end of the day, we have to look into a situation where, 'Would it hurt the Philippines more if we insist on that?"

When Falcis argued, Rivera said that he has to prove it.
"If you're claiming that EJK is a state thing, you have to prove it."
