On Tuesday a freak accident happened when a 27-year-old breadwinner from South Cotabato, became dizzy and fell through the train tracks.

Charlie Jandic who is a post-graduate intern at the Chinese General Hospital was at the MRT Ayala Station. It was her first time there at the station so she was not in a hurry.

When she was about to go up the stairs, she saw a woman going the other way, she figured that the woman was about to go to the guard and ask something so she continued on her way.

That's when she heard a loud thud. Like somebody was hit by a car, and people began shouting.
Parang may nabundol"
At first, she admitted that she thought the woman was gone, but when she heard someone shouting for help, that's when she went down the stairs to see the victim.
"Akala ko po kasi honestly, wala na. Kasi with that strong an impact, akala ko wala na. Pero may ano din na tulungan daw."
She recalled that she saw the woman in the stoney part of the tracks between the railing and the tracks.
Somebody instructed to help the woman up the platform, so they did, and that's when Jandic sprang to action. She looked for anything that can be used as a tourniquet.
She asked for a stretcher and instructed the guards to get the severed hand. The guards told her that they can't get it yet because they still have to file an incident report, but she asked for it still.

All the while, she was talking to the woman, veering her attention away because she freaked out.
She tried her best to keep the woman's attention so she won't fall into a coma.
Tapos kinakausap ko siya the whole time kasi hindi ko kasi alam ‘yung extent if tumama ba ‘yung ulo niya. So there’s that risk na if antukin siya, matulog siya, mahirapan na na gisingin siya."
When the medics came, Jandic even accompanied the woman to the hospital, she endorsed the woman to the doctors and even talked to the victim's family.

When asked how she feels about the being branded a hero, she admitted that she finds it weird.
Honestly po nawiwirduhan ako. Yung ginawa ko is what I think was right.
