A news report by Jeff Canoy of ABS-CBN went viral. In the report, he talked to a Marawi soldier widow named Mary Jane Rivera-Apao, the widow of CPl Apao who was killed by a friendly fire from an airstrike in Marawi. Everything went well from the interview and the actual meeting.

But when the final report came out, a group of Marawi soldier widows couldn't help but call him out for twisting the news and making it appear that the widow he interviewed is asking the government for answers regarding her husband's death.

According to the group's claim, it was not like that. The widow even actually said thanks to the President Rodrigo Duterte for being there for them and keeping their morale strong. But it was conveniently cut from the video.

One of the friends of Mrs. Apao, Ligaya Baldomera COrnito-Serrano expressed her disappointment and called Canoy out for using them.

In a Facebook post, Mrs. Serrano urged the people not to believe everything that they hear in the news, because some are biased and are not committed to let the people know the truth.

When social media blogger and known supporter of the administration, Krizzete Laureta Chu read the status, she couldn't help but comment and asked what happened.

Following the comments, the group appeared to have spoken to Chu thru private message and Chu released a photo.

And then, she also shared Mrs. Serrano's post. In her post she even tagged Jeff Canoy for his comments.

Jeff Canoy on the other hand posted his response. In his post, he said, panoorin mabuti hindi yung comment lang ng comment.
